On the right path to a more connected city

Friends, families, activities, events and grassroots support continue building excitement and momentum as we work to make Bentonville the safest, most connected city by 2027.

This is it, transformative impact in the Heartland.

At Bentonville Moves Coalition, we’ve helped people and organizations bring their ideas to life and positively impact our community. Murals add color to spaces and honor our rich cultural heritage. An event shows we Choose Love, among other gatherings that support physical activity, community engagement, and the Connecting Bentonville bicycle and pedestrian plan. We’re all about empowering residents by supporting local artists, enhancing infrastructure, and fostering community engagement.

We also voice our support for important initiatives at City Council on behalf of nearly 500 Coalition members.

New trails enable greater connectivity

Other ways we’re making great strides working together on community connectivity include support for adding trails in southwest Bentonville. These new trails will play a crucial role in connecting the Bentonville Community Center to Fulbright, Willowbrook and Brightfield schools, and the surrounding neighborhoods. Currently, engaged parents use bike trains to and from Willowbrook and Brightfield schools to make the routes safer for children, and funding for additional trail construction will enhance these efforts and ensure the well-being of our children, while creating a more vibrant and healthier community.

This trail construction will not only benefit the schools and nearby neighborhoods but also allow residents and visitors of all ages to explore and enjoy the outdoors by providing a new recreational amenity. It also will connect existing trails and create a more extensive network, making it easier for people to access key destinations such as parks and other community facilities, ultimately improving quality of life and boosting economic development.

E-bike rebates spur more two-wheel trips

In addition to supporting trail construction, we commend a new e-bike rebate program from the Walmart Foundation that sets us on a sustainable, connected course even more. We can make e-bikes more accessible and affordable to our residents, reducing reliability on cars while enhancing the benefits of the trail construction project.

These are just a few of the ways we’re making Bentonville a model city for community connectivity. See how it’s all connected?
