Bentonville’s First E-Bike Rebate Program to Launch Sept. 3

Things are really moving in Bentonville, and the City of Bentonville is making it even easier for you to be part of the progress with their first-ever Bentonville E-Bike Rebate Program.

Launching Sept. 3, the E-Bike Rebate Program is part of Bentonville’s intention to provide greater access to alternative transportation modes. Grants from Walmart Corporate and the Walton Family Foundation, total nearly $4 million, are supporting the program.

To be eligible for the rebate, you must be a resident of Bentonville (proof of residence is required) and you must be 18 or older. Income-qualified residents will be eligible for a larger rebate. To qualify as income-qualified, residents must show proof of household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.

All documents, including proof of residence, must be valid and dated within one year of application. 

Types of bikes eligible

  1. Standard e-bikes: Class I, 2 or 3

  2. Mountain e-bikes

  3. Adaptive e-bikes: Designed to meet individual and specialized needs of riders

  4. Cargo e-bikes: E-bikes designed to all carrying capacities

Rebate amounts 

Income qualified:

  • Standard/Mountain e-bikes: $900 

  • Cargo/Adaptive e-bikes: $1,300

  • Equipment: $100

Non-income qualified:

  • Standard/Mountain e-bikes: $500

  • Cargo/Adaptive e-bikes: $900

  • Equipment: $100

Some stipulations to keep us all on the same path:

·      The equipment rebate is to purchase qualified equipment only, meaning locks and/or helmets.

·      Rebates are not valid for previously purchased e-bikes. 

·      Rebates are valid for 90 days.

Simply follow these important dates and conditions to become eligible for an e-bike rebate.

Pre-apply for a rebate beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The pre-application window closes Monday Sept. 9.

At the end of the pre-application period (Monday, Sept. 9), the system will randomly select a preset number of applicants to complete their applications. (This involves uploading the documentation to qualify their residency and, if applicable, income qualification.)

If selected, you will have 96 hours to complete your application.

All completed applications will be reviewed and rebates will be awarded to qualified applicants.

Another pre-application window will open on Monday, Oct. 7, with the random selection to formally apply on Monday, Oct. 14.
